Essence of the Throne by Dakota Monroe


Essence of the Throne is book 2 in the Shadows of the Crown series. When I thought Shadows of the Crown was intense, I didn’t have a clue what was waiting for me in book 2. This is the perfect continuation of the story we started unraveling in book 1, and I definitely couldn’t put it down for a minute.

Ariella and Caspian have the most beautiful development as individuals and as a couple. I wanted to hit Ariella in the head with my Kindle because she kept denying her true feelings, but something stronger is going on between them that has me suspecting a couple of theories that I won’t tell so I don’t spoil anything.

I loved that we got to know more about their world and also more details about their magic, which I still find so original and different from other stories with similar magic systems. This was a really great read, with lots of tension and character growth that I truly appreciated.

I’m super grateful for being a part of the ARC team of Dakota Monroe, I can’t wait to read the rest of your work!

Essence of the Throne es el libro 2 de la serie Shadows of the Crown. Cuando pensaba que el primer libro era intenso, no tenía ni idea de lo que me esperaba en el libro 2. Esta es la continuación perfecta de la historia que empezamos a desentrañar en el libro 1, y definitivamente no pude dejar de leerlo ni un minuto.

Ariella y Caspian tienen el desarrollo más hermoso como individuos y como pareja. Quería golpear a Ariella en la cabeza con mi Kindle porque seguía negando sus verdaderos sentimientos, pero algo más fuerte está sucediendo entre ellos que me hace sospechar un par de teorías que no diré para no spoilear nada.

Me encantó que conociéramos más sobre su mundo y también más detalles sobre su magia, que todavía me parece tan original y diferente de otras historias con sistemas mágicos similares. Esta fue una lectura realmente genial, con mucha tensión y crecimiento de personajes que realmente aprecié.
