When I first saw the blurb for this book I was super excited to see Aztec representation, accompanied by a Latina author. Representation is extremely important, and it is fair to say that as a Latina I haven’t seen us represented so often in the fantasy genre.

All of my excitement and expectations were met. This book has beautiful world-building, with diverse characters and stories. The fraternal love between the main characters was beautiful, they each had a mission in the Tournament that they’d been preparing for all of their life, but nothing was as they thought it would be, shattering all their beliefs.

All of the characters involved in this book were amazingly colorful, the MMC is such a deep character that I couldn’t avoid falling in love with him.

I can’t continue sharing how much more I loved this book without spoiling the story. I need book 2, that ending was super powerful!

Cuando vi por primera vez el resumen de este libro, me emocionó mucho ver la representación azteca, acompañada por una autora latina. La representación es extremadamente importante y es justo decir que como latina no nos había visto representadas tan a menudo en el género de fantasía.

Se cumplieron todas mis expectativas y entusiasmo. Este libro tiene una hermosa construcción del mundo, con diversos personajes e historias. El amor fraternal entre los personajes principales fue maravilloso, cada uno tenía una misión en el Torneo para la que se habían estado preparando toda su vida, pero nada fue como pensaban que sería, haciendo añicos todas sus creencias.

Todos los personajes involucrados en este libro son increíblemente coloridos, el MMC es un personaje tan profundo que no pude evitar enamorarme de él.

No puedo seguir contando cuánto más amé este libro sin estropear la historia. Necesito el libro 2, ¡ese final fue súper poderoso!
